Bonnie Hokulani Henshaw was born and raised on the Big Island. She has been licensed in Hawaii for 12 years (licensed issued in 1996). Her career includes 11 years at the prestigeous Hilton Waikola Village, Principal Massage Therapist, private practice, educator, and lecturer of anatomy, physiology, and massage related topics. Her knowledge, work force experience, versatile professional skills, and teamwork attitude greatly enhances the quality of our curriculum. She is a great mentor to help you build a foundation for your professional massage skills.
Geno Ortiz has been licensed in Hawaii for 29 years. His anatomy related education was "pre-medical" at: Whittier College, Long Beach State University, and the University of Oregon. He has worked for numerous Professional Sports teams, Hotels, Cruise Ships, rehabilitation centers, and medical establishments. He is honored to have been twice selected by the International Olympic Committee to serve on the "World's Massage Team" for the Winter and Summer Olympic Games. He has received honors and commendations from the Olympic Committee and the Governor of Hawaii.

This intensive will enhance the quality of your therapeutic skills, elevate demands for your therapy, and increase your earning potential.

Are you tired of wiping skin and HOPING you might affect the underlying muscles? Are you confused as to which muscle or muscles might be the target for therapy? Confused how to properly manipulate that muscle, or muscles once you identify them? Over 80% of the population has low back pain in their lifetime. These victims of low back pain will be thrilled with your new techniques and knowledge achieved during this course. You will master effective and proven muscular massage hands on techniques, study advanced thoracolumbar muscular and skeletal anatomy, pain anatomy, interaction/teamwork of skeletal and muscular systems, contraindications, pain/injury assessment, and self-care therapy and prevention.

Your instructor is Olympic Muscular Massage Therapist, Geno Ortiz L.M.T. Geno has been technically selected by the International Olympic Committee to provide “Muscular Massage Therapy” to the “Athletes of the World” in the 1984 Summer & 2002 Winter Olympic Games. The 1984 Olympics staffed the first Olympic Massage Team in history, and only 36 therapists were choosen from the world. In the 2002 Olympics, only 2 therapists in the entire State of Hawaii were choosen. Geno is a licensed massage therapist in the State of Hawaii for 28 years and has educated hundreds of therapists who are practicing massage world-wide.

Resonably priced lodging is available. Depending on our number of participants, lodging will be either in the magnificient 2 story Pahala Plantation House, or in classic cottages in Pahala town. In the historic Pahala Plantation House, there are: 7 bedrooms: 3 rooms have 2 beds, 3 rooms have Queen beds, and 1 room has a King bed. Room selection is based on "first come/first served". Come with a group of your friends and cut lodging costs! The large kitchen is available for all guests use.

COURSE PRICES AND HOURS FOR MUSCULAR MASSAGE SERIES

ALL COURSE HOURS ARE STATE AND
NATIONALLY APPROVED AND ACCREDITED.

COURSE HOURS: (not including lodging): DAY 1= 3 hrs, DAY 2= 7.5 hrs, DAY 3= 7.5 hrs.

COST INVESTMENT FOR 18 HOUR COURSE: $225+tax. ($12.50 per hour). Cost includes all handouts, technique instruction, and lecture. Lodging prices could vary from $55-$80 per night depending on the amount of participants. All lodging provides full kitchen acces, laundry facilities etc.

Camping is also available nearby at majestic Punaluu Black Sand Beach. If you did not now, this beach is believed to be where the first Polynesians arrived, by canoe, to the Hawaiian Islands.
It is true that Hawaii is God's country, but Ka'u is where God goes on vacation!
